Diesel instructors 

The diesel engine maintenance course is one of the RYA's specialist one-day courses. In order to teach it you must qualify as an RYA diesel instructor, even if you are a qualified marine diesel engineer.

The instructor course is a single day and is organised centrally by the RYA. 

Potential instructors should have a good knowledge of the operation and maintenance of marine diesel engines. Candidates who come from an automotive background should be familiar with both direct and indirect marine cooling systems and salt water filtration.

NOTE: Membership of the RYA (or the National Governing Body for your boating activity in your country of residence) is required in order for you to qualify or revalidate as an RYA instructor.
