Digital life: eDofE

A fundamental change to the way we manage the  DofE Charity was introduced in 2009.  eDofE is our online management tool, designed to allow young people to record their activities in a fun and interactive way whilst providing the Charity with essential management information.

eDofE is the tool that underpins all our work and allows us to:

  • Offer DofE programmes to more young people efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Monitor and manage DofE delivery and understand where more support and intervention is required
  • Share information and best practice effectively with our diverse network
  • Provide support, advice and resources for our network
  • Report on our success and reach.

In 2010 we launched the facility for young people to create an Achievement Pack, using the information they have stored in eDofE.  Produced as a hardback book it will provide them with a lasting memory of their achievements, and allow them to share their experiences with friends, family and potential employers.

With over 250,000 users, eDofE is now firmly embedded in our work.

We constantly collect feedback from our users and have embarked on a phased development programme to improve user experience.  New screens for participants were introduced in May 2011 and for Managers in May 2012.
