GJW Marina of the Year 

GJW Marina of the year’ is an award available to Gold Anchor accredited members of The Yacht Harbour Association.

Category winners and the 3 runners up in each category will be announced at The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA) AGM on February 5th 2014.

Award recipients have the right to use the logo and they will receive a framed certificate and trophy. As well as having the rights to use the branding, winners and runners up will be promoted through Marina World and Motor Boats and Yachting and through a press release issued by TYHA.

There are 4 categories:

• British marina of the year – available to UK coastal (tidal) marinas only
• Inland marina of the year – available to UK inland (non tidal) marinas only
• International marina of the year – available to non UK marinas only
• Employee of year – an international award, nominated by the boater

Nominations are open to any Gold Anchor rated marina but are made exclusively by customers. Having already completed a detailed assessment of each marina (through Gold Anchors) TYHA invite customers of participating Gold Anchor marinas to submit their nomination for marina of the year.

Marina management participate in the award by circulating the nomination form to their customers and completed forms can either be returned directly to the TYHA office or through a participating marina office.

The number of berths in a marina is taken into consideration when counting nominations and they are calculated on a % of capacity basis. All nominations will be reviewed by a panel of independent judges, who will decide on the winner based solely on the customers’ feedback.

Members of the panel include:

• A TYHA executive
• TYHA chairman or deputy
• RYA representative
• Marina World representative
• Motor Boat and Yachting representative

To apply email gturnbull@britishmarine.co.uk who will register your marina for the award. All nominations must be received by TYHA by the 1st January 2014 and the panel will confer during January to select the winner of each category.
