Frequently Asked Questions

Curiosity cured

  1. What is Foamee?

Foamee is a free service that helps track who you owe beers or coffee to (and vice-versa) using the popular messaging service, Twitter.

  2. Do I need to sign-up for an account?

No! You’ll need a Twitter account though. Learn more about how to set up Foamee here.

  3. Why would I want to send someone a beer or coffee?

Drinks are currency! And if you’re like us, you’re saying “I owe you a beer” (or coffee) often. Foamee is simply a fun way to keep track of those I.O.U.s. It can also be just a little virtual pat-on-the-back for good deeds.

  4. What if the person I’m sending a drink to isn’t a Twitter member?

That’s OK. We’ll forgive them. See the How-To page for the syntax to specify a non-Twitter member as a recipient.

  5. It says I owe _______ a drink, but I just bought them one. Now what?

You can stamp an I.O.U. as “redeemed” if you’ve either sent or received it by sending a direct message to Foamee. Find out more about the syntax to do this on the How-To page.

  6. Who is behind this?

Foamee was created by SimpleBits, a tiny design studio in Massachusetts founded by Dan Cederholm.

  7. How can I contact Foamee?

We’d love to hear from you. Please send all inquiries to contact [at] foamee dot com.

  8. Is Foamee a waste of time?

    Possibly.

  9. Is Foamee affiliated with Twitter?

    No.

  10. I think you’re awesome.

While not a question, you would certainly be correct in saying so.
