The English Institute of Sport (EIS) is looking forward to the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Games and beyond by holding unique workshops aimed at those wanting to develop their careers in high performance sport.
Following last year’s successful inaugural Skills4performance workshop, we are pleased to announce the EIS will host two courses in 2014 covering eight practitioner disciplines;
Workshop 1 - Performance Nutrition, Performance Lifestyle, Performance Psychology and Physiology
Please note this workshop has now been completed. We intend to run further courses for those interested in Performance Nutrition, Performance Lifestyle, Performance Psychology and Physiology next year subject to funding. Further details will be made available in early 2015.
Workshop 2 – Biomechanics, Performance Analysis, Physiotherapy and Strength and Conditioning
Dates: Monday 13th - Friday 17th October 2014 at Lilleshall National Sports Centre.

Workshop Highlights
- Engage with EIS technical teams for a 5-day full-time residential course at an EIS centre
- 8 discipline routes offered
- Training in specific practical and personal skills
- Education of the high performance system with seminars and workshops exploring the high performance environment, athlete, coach and performance director perspectives, working in a multi-disciplinary team and understanding yourself and how to operate
- Hear performance perspectives from high level speakers including Olympic champions, Performance Directors and leading coaches.

The British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) student conference offers another excellent professional development opportunity in 2014, this year featuring EIS Director of Science and Technology Dr Steve Ingham as one of its keynote speakers. The conference is being held at the University of Portsmouth on 8th/9th April 2014, click here for more information
