First Flight Wind Ltd Scoping Consultation

In March 2014, First Flight Wind Ltd, a consortium of B9 Energy, RES Offshore and DONG Energy, submitted an Offshore Scoping Report to the Department of Environment and requested a Scoping Opinion under 13(1) of The Marine Works (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2007 (as amended) for a proposal to construct and operate an offshore wind farm of up to 600 MW off the coast of County Down.

The Offshore Scoping Opinion aims to set out the methodologies and issues to be addressed through the Environmental Impact Assessment, which First Flight Wind Ltd will provide to the Department. along with a formal application for a marine licence. Clean Coast Week 28th June - 6th July

Be part of Clean Coast Week 2014!  The Clean Coast Programme supports volunteers who clean up our beaches, rivers and loughs. Last year 200 Coast Care groups helped create a cleaner coastline, free of litter and debris.

Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful are encouraging those who do not live near the coast to get involved in the inland waterways projects ‘River Care’ and ‘Lough Care’

Consultation on fixed monetary penalties.

Draft legislation to introduce fixed monetary penalties for the enforcement of byelaws protecting Marine Conservation Zones and European Marine Sites.

You are invited to respond to this consultation by no later than 5th September 2014.
