Earn commission for your club, training centre or marina with the new look RYA Joining Point scheme

Helping us spread the word about RYA Membership...

With a brand new look the RYA is encouraging RYA recognised Clubs and Training Centres, and marinas around the country to sign up as RYA Joining Points.

This great scheme allows those clubs, training centres and marinas signed up to the programme to earn commission for promoting RYA personal membership and recruiting RYA members.

“We have found that many club members and customers think they are personal members of the RYA because their organisation is associated with the RYA, but unfortunately this is not the case, which means they are missing out on all the great benefits personal membership to the RYA offers.

“The idea of the Joining Point scheme is to encourage clubs, training centres and marinas to promote RYA personal membership whilst receiving a commission bonus that can be fed back in to their organisation, it’s a win, win for everyone”, explained Conor Swift, RYA Membership Development Manager.

Great new look

Recently the whole Joining Point scheme has been given a great new look and Joining Point packs containing everything the club or centre needs to promote RYA membership have been issued to the existing 180 RYA Joining Points.

“The packs provide Joining Points with all the tools they need to promote RYA membership to their members and customers, explaining the importance of supporting the RYA and all the work it does on behalf of the recreational boating public, and the numerous membership benefits, rewards and services available”, explained Conor.

Packs include:

  • Posters
  • Membership Leaflets containing a pre-paid post application form, pre-printed with your Joining Point reference number
  • Quality leaflet holders
  • Promotional stickers
  • “How to” Joining Point Swatch containing everything there is to know about RYA membership and Joining Point

Positive feedback

So far feedback has been very positive indeed.  Paul Drake, Managing Director, Duck-2-Water based in Southampton commented: “Duck-2-Water became a Joining Point because as an RYA Training Centre we feel that it is important to encourage our customers to become members of the RYA.

“Having a resource such as the RYA, offering information and advice on all aspects of boating both home and abroad, is valuable to everyone.  We are happy to continue to encourage all of our students to join.”

Each Joining Point pack provides the club or centre with the possibly of earning up to £1,000 in commission depending upon the number of members signed up. Commission is paid on a quarterly basis and the amount depends upon they type of membership signed up to.

Signing up as an RYA Joining Point is completely free and easy to do, simply email joiningpoint@rya.org.uk to get started.
