Something for the weekend

Tomorrow the 2-day Eastbourne Extreme event kicks off and Eastbourne seafront will be taken over by a huge line up of air, land and water based activities. There will be windsurfing, P1 powerboats, bike displays, kite surfing, a national roller derby tournament, a VW Bus Stop tour, food, live music and entertainment. On the River Thames it is the closing weekend of the Henley Music Festival. It’s a popular event on the upper Thames boating calendar, many boats don their navigation lights and take in the spectacle by water. The Jacksons will be on the floating stage on Saturday and the evening festivities end at 10:15 with a spectacular firework display. For more information visit the website

This weekend will see the return of the Evesham River Festival. The programme of activities includes fairground rides, flypasts, an illuminated boat parade, live music, morris dancing, boat demonstrations, boat handling competitions, food and entertainment.
