The 250 sailors who took part in the RS Southern Championships at Hayling Island this weekend, 21st and 22nd June, could not have asked for better conditions.
Another glorious day at Hayling Island for the RS classes Southern Championships. The RS100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 700 and 800 classes held their Southern Championships at Hayling Island SC this weekend . . . Winners were: RS100 Neal Freeman, RS200 Tom Morris and Emma Porteous of HISC, RS300 Steve Bolland of Bristol Corinthian YC, RS400 Paul and Mark Oakeyof Portchester SC, RS500 Jane Olive and Chris Tuckett, RS700 Neil Ashby of Shoreham SC and in the RS800 class Andy and Allyson Jeffries of ESSC.
Racing Programme
The racing area will be Hayling Bay with Chichester Harbour as an option in the case of bad weather - Tidal Sets available here.
Schedule is for three races per day. There will be 2 courses, each with 4 fleets and 3 starts.
Event Entry
Please note numbers are limited and advance entry is required, due to the planning needed to manage the large numbers of boats across so many classes, there will be absolutely NO ENTRY ON THE DAY.
Entry Fee is £39:00/double hander, £33/single hander prior to 14 June. After 14 June entry will increase by £5/boat.

The BIG Party
A self-serve Championship Dinner will be held after racing on Saturday. Please help us to plan by purchasing tickets in advance with your entry at £8 / head. Choices will include Homemade Lasagne, Homemade Chicken Pie, a vegetarian option and one other dish of the day. You will be able to buy tickets at registration, but the cost will rise.
After dinner, sailors will be entertained by renowned local band The Senators.

The Bar is open: 11:00 - 24:00 Saturday/Sunday. 11:00 - 15:00 and 17:00 - 23:00 Monday to Friday.
The Restaurant is open daily: Breakfast 08:00 - 10:00, Lunch 12:30 - 14:00, Dinner: 18:30 - 21:00.
Packed Lunches will be available to purchase from the Snack Bar from: 09:00hrs
Accommodation is available at HISC.

Mobile homes/camper vans
No mobile homes/camper vans may remain within the precincts of the club, which includes the car park, overflow car park and the causeway, between the hours of 23.00 and 07.00hrs unless they have pre-booked and paid the prevailing rate to the club office. The number of available spaces is restricted and the camper van must be parked in the allocated area as directed by the HISC Office.

Boat Parking
Trailer storage will be in a designated area in the Carpark next to the Lifeboat station, please ensure all trailers are labelled with owners name and sail number.
