Solway Yacht Club Shop 2014

The Club has recently launched a range of SYC clothing and accessories, new for 2014.

All are embroidered with the SYC Club logo on the front. Many items can have additional Custom embroidery with your name, your boat name, crew position, your long list of race wins or any other appropriate message!

Crew register for Cadet and Kippford Weeks

I am commencing the Crew Register for Members and Visiting Competitors again this year for those wishing to participate. It is managed via Email with the list and updates being circulated to participants only. It is then up to participants to make contact and introduce themselves. SYC takes no responsibility for mismatches.

If you want a crewing position or are looking for a crew, please submit your contact details, experience, type of craft and availability ie. Cadet week, Kippford Week and or Regatta - to me at sycfeb@gmail.com

We already have three Skippers looking for Kippford Week crews.

For those not in the know - what is Cadet and Kippford Week?

They are the highlight of the Solway Yacht Club's season. There are full sailing and social programmes during both weeks. The social programmes mean that both weeks are as busy or as relaxing as you care to make them.

We have a beautiful sheltered bay to sail in which provides the full sea sailing experience and being just off shore, is very safe for younger sailors.

Look elsewhere on this web site to see the potential for a great sailing holiday - the visitor us page shows the area in general and the visitors chart shows the sailing area.

As ever, the club will be providing exciting racing with competitive fleets and, of course, it will be sunny and warm with a nice south-westerly. Even if we can't guarantee the last bit, historically the weather is usually kind to us.

We look forward to seeing you.

Members' Only Area

There has been some concern expressed on our Facebook site re members having to re-register for access to the Members Only Area of this web site. The Committee took the decision to have a higher level of security to protect data and Club access codes etc. and the old security could not be carried over from last year. This should not happen again in future years.

It is a simple procedure whereby after renewing your membership you provide a username and password (it can be the same as last year and/or the same as for your Web Collect) and apply for registration. Once the application is submitted I will approve current members and they will be able to go in at will using the details they have provided.

The Members' Area contains Club Access Codes, Current Club Handbook, Committee Minutes, the Club's Constitution and other member only information, which arises from time to time.

Free Members' WiFi at Clubhouse

The committee has decided to offer free WiFi to all members at the Club House.

The WiFi key required to join the network can be found on the members' area of the website or can be obtained from a committee member on request. We hope you will find the useful for checking your e-mail, news and weather forecasts whilst waiting for the tide!
