Welcome to Chelmarsh Sailing Club. Our club offers fantastic facilities for all levels of sailing skill whether you are new to sailing and looking to start your first sailing experience, someone who is looking to enhance their skills or an experienced sailor looking for competitive sailing races and events.
Chelmarsh Sailing Club prides itself on being a friendly family club and can boast of family memberships spanning 3 generations. All new members are warmly welcomed, with established members only too pleased to offer help and assistance. We have a dedicated members forum where you can ask questions, get information about the club and boats plus information on events.
Enviably located within an area of renowned natural beauty, the club was founded in 1965 and enjoys the use of 110 acres of sailing water at Chelmarsh reservior. The clubhouse provides perfect panoramic views over the entire water from the relaxed atmosphere of the comfortably furnished lounge and bar and the well-equipped galley and children's play area. Outside there are picnic and barbecue facilities.
Chelmarsh Facilities
The facilities of the modern clubhouse and training centre complement the superb sailing environment. Various light snacks and hot meals are prepared and served from the well-equipped galley whilst alternative liquid refreshments are available from the fully stocked bar. The clubhouse has full changing room and hot shower facilities.
Races, Training and Events
The sailing programme is made up of club racing, club cruising, open meetings (which attract top sailors from around the UK) and a number of special events such as our annual "taster days" which attracts many visitors to the club.
Alongside our sailing programme Chelmarsh Sailing Club runs a number of varied social events throughout the year. Our cruising group organise various "away days" around the country as well as regular Thursday and Saturday leisure sailing at the club. With approximately 170 members Chelmarsh Sailing Club is one of the largest and most active sailing clubs in the region having active sailors ranging in experience and ability from novice to world class and of all ages, there's plenty of company for you.
