Facebook is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our Release to Production team. Our servers and datacenters are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. The co-op will work closely with our server design, validation, and data center engineering design teams to build, test, validate, and optimize hardware that is delivered to Facebook’s data centers. This position is located in our Menlo Park office.
Responsibilities
- Interface with hardware, validation, and software engineers to understand system architecture.
- Set requirements and drive manufacturing partners to build, test, and deliver quality hardware.
- Develop quality metrics, test methodologies, and assembly processes.
- Help to create electrical and/or mechanical fixtures to assist the factories in building components and assembly.
- Develop and publish yield reports and communicate findings to team members.
- Diagnose and root cause component failures.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in hardware, electrical, or computer engineering.
- Familiar with manufacturing processes at the PCBAs, systems, or rack level.
- Familiar with latest server architecture and components.
- Strong trouble shooting and analytical skills.
- Must have excellent communications skills.
- Experience with Linux, bash, and python scripting is a plus.
