Planner – Edge Planning & Procurement Team

Facebook's global network comprised of cutting-edge platforms is looking for a Edge Planner to join the Edge Planning and Procurement team. This team is responsible for working with engineering, data science, sourcing and program teams both at Facebook and ISPs. As a planner you will have a unique opportunity to shape the future content distribution needs to accommodate our explosive user traffic growth. This position is full-time and located in our Menlo Park office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analysis and detailed planning support to infrastructure program, data analytics and product teams enabling in-depth understanding of partner ISP engagement needs
  • Assist product development of multiple Content Distribution platforms in collaboration with Facebook Infrastructure teams and ISPs around the globe
  • Evaluate platform program goals, implementation methodology, and optimal operational performance goals
  • work to translate data to vendor requirements/roadmaps
  • Define and provide business justification for new or expansion of existing Points of Presence (PoPs) and evolving Edge architecture

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Internet infrastructure: specifically IP, BGP routing and content proxy caching
  • Analytical and data driven bias, evidenced by capacity for coding and data manipulation skills
  • 4+ years of experience
  • B.S. or B.A. in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
