Dinghy Level 1

Learn to sail Course - RYA Dinghy Level 1 course from Brighton
On the RYA Dinghy Level 1 course our instructors will guide you through the basics and give you an introduction into dinghy sailing in our modern craft on the sea from Brighton Marina.

Learn to sail course content Includes:

• Rigging
• How to sail in all directions
• Crewing and helming
• Awareness of launching and recovery

Dinghy Level 1 at Lagoon Watersports:

• Run by highly experienced and friendly RYA instructors.
  
• All specialised equipment is provided
  
• Suitable for complete beginners or those with a little experience - we train everyone from kids to grandparents!
  
• Group sizes are kept to a maximum of 6 people
  
• Master the basics of how to control and steer a dinghy

Course Objective: Able to sail in light winds under supervision and set your dinghy up ready for next time

Prerequisite: None

What to bring: All you need to bring is an old pair of shoes you don’t mind getting wet. Waterproofs, buoyancy aid and equipment hire is included.

We recommend combining this course with the level 2 sailing course. Save £51 when you book the level 2 course with the level 1. This combination will get you to the stage when you are ready hire on the sea.

Dinghy Level 2

RYA Dinghy Level 2 Course

On the RYA Dinghy Level 2 Course your skills will improve as we introduce you to the five essentials of sailing: Balance, Trim, Centreboard, Sail setting and Course made good.

Course Content Includes:

• Rigging
• Launching
• Sailing In All Directions
• Capsize Recovery
• Essential Safety Knowledge

RYA Dinghy Level 2 Course at Lagoon Watersports: 

• Run by highly experienced and friendly RYA instructors.
• All specialised equipment is provided
• Group sizes are kept to a maximum of 6 people

Course Objective: You will be sailing confidently without the instructor onboard; ready to hire our dinghies on the sea and practice your new found skills!

Prerequisite: RYA Dinghy Level 1 or Equivalent Experience (Book this in with the Level 1 course and save £51)

What to bring
All you need to bring is an old pair of shoes you don’t mind getting wet, Waterproofs, buoyancy aid and equipment hire is included.

Sailing Taster Coastal

This sailing taster will get you on the water off the beautiful Brighton coast! These sessions are run on our Sigma 8s (8 metre yachts) with qualified RYA instructors to give you an introduction to sailing.

You will learn some of the sailing basics and have a go at helming (driving).

Private Dinghy Lesson

A private 1:1 lesson with a qualified RYA instructor can offer you an intensive way of learning a new sport or mastering new skills to enhance your sailing. Classes are suitable for all abilities from complete beginners to improvers.

Private Keel boat or Dinghy lesson package - 3 x 90 minutes
