Presenting on behalf of the Coordination Commission for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad - Beijing 2008, Gilbert FELLI spoke to the EB about the IOC's visit to Hong Kong and Beijing in August and preparations for the fifth Coordination Commission meeting in Beijing in November, when the commission will also visit the Qingdao sailing venue. FELLI also outlined Beijing's progress on venue construction; Games services; sport; culture, image and communications; and finance and marketing. He was able to point out to the EB some of the benefits that the Beijing Organizing Committee had been able to draw from the IOC's transfer of knowledge programme, as well as the secondee and observer programmes that are implemented for future OCOGs at each edition of the Games. In addition, FELLI mentioned the major progress that had been reported by the President of the Beijing Organizing Committee at the first World Broadcasters Briefing on working conditions for the international media during the Beijing Games.
Reporting for the first time to the EB as Chairman of the Coordination Commission for the Games of the XXX Olympiad - London 2012, Denis OSWALD outlined his activities. Since his appointment in August, OSWALD and a small group from the IOC have visited London and are already building strong relationships with the London Organizing Committee. These relationships will be further reinforced during an orientation seminar scheduled for November and the first full visit of the Commission, which is expected to be in April of 2006. OSWALD commented to the EB on his satisfaction with the current activity during London's transition phase from Candidate City to OCOG, including the fast introduction of the Olympic Bill to Parliament and the initiative of the City of London in order to facilitate the initial construction project launch. The EB also decided that the Olympic Broadcasting Organization (OBO) for London 2012 would be controlled by the IOC.
