It is with deep regret I have to announce the death of Hiley Jones.
Keith Videlo (Commodore)
Hiley Jones died on the 29th January 2014.
He joined F.P.S.C. in the 1970's sailing in the Graduate class, proving to be a first rate helm. In those days the Grads were well attended and went to Opens frequently. Hiley was competitive to his fingertips and battles were rife between himself, Denis Da Roza and Richard Goss.
Twelve of us had three boats in a flotilla sailing around Greece--a wonderful holiday packed with laughter, As always with the rest of the flotilla there was a race on the final day and guess who came 1st, 2nd and 3rd?.
Sadly, Hiley had to retire from sailing but got involved with bowls, golf and swimming though he never lost his love of sailing.
Missed greatly by his family and many friends.

Last weekend two of our young volunteers, Rebecca Rayner and Ella Hargreaves were awarded joint winners of the RYA Youth Volunteer Award. They were presented with their award at the RYA National Conference - pictured here with the RYA Chief Executive Sarah Treseder and the after dinner speaker Gerry Hughes (the worlds first deaf yachtsman to sail single handed around the world).
