More views on the new National Handicaps for Cruisers
Nigel Mower of HASA comments "The first thing to stress is that there is a desperate need for a new handicap system and NHC has gone a long way to addressing that need. What you achieved is not easy and not straight forward and you have done a good job getting so many handicaps near enough in the first season." Read the full story >>
Do you have music in your Clubhouse?
If so the rules and licences have changed and are more restrictive.
Nigel Mower of HASA has talked to Mandy Peters and she is very helpful and will help any club that has a query. Commenting Nigel says: "I do not believe many clubs play back ground music so that change should not impact too many clubs. Where clubs do need to be careful is with the numbers. They have to declare the total membership numbers but Mandy says that they should only pay the amount that reflects the total number they can cater for in their Social areas. Most clubs I know can cater for approx. 50% of their total membership. It is worth pointing out to clubs that they need to register for all their organised events where music is played and that they need to pay PRS for all types of music, even for live music but PPL just for recorded music."
