Introduction

The South Cerney Sailing Club supported Junior Class is the International Cadet Class dinghy. The dinghy, designed for children by Group Captain Haylock, was first built in 1947 by Jack Holt and is still thriving as an RYA Junior recognised pathway craft.  The cadet fleet, known as 96 Cadet Squadron, has been active at South Cerney since the 1960's and has a strong track record for producing very capable and competitive young sailors.

Our aim is to encourage young people to enjoy sailing, become confident, participate in racing and above all have fun!

We provide training for a mixed ability of junior sailor from complete beginners to RYA National squad level. The majority of coaches come from volunteer parents and club members. We are also very well supported by the RYA Clubs Coaches system because South Cerney Sailing Club is a RYA Youth Championship Club.
