Why does the Android app now want permission to read my texts?
Android App
The new update for the Android app is requesting that it gets new permissions for reading my texts, getting full access to my personal information (including my contact card, my calendar, etc.), and to my network. Why does it need this? I'm not granting it permission. It's already too much that the app was already apparently collecting people's phone numbers without their permission. I'm sorry, but no, Facebook, you don't get to read my texts.
So why does it need this information?

- Yes it helps. I've deleted the app from my phone - that info is none of Facebook's business.Posted about 3 weeks ago by Alison Campbell
- The old version is getting very quirky and not working very well, but I'll stop using Facebook before I agree to allow such a violation of privacy. Get a clue, Facebook.Posted about 2 weeks ago by Fred Axelrod
