Posting & Tagging

To choose whether other people can post on your Page's Timeline:

  1. Click Settings at the top of your Page
  2. Click Posting Ability
  3. Click the boxes next to Everyone can post to [your Page's name]'s Timeline and Everyone can add photos and videos to [your Page's name]'s Timeline to edit these settings
  4. Click Save Changes

If you allow other people to post on your Page's Timeline, you can choose to hide these posts until you approve them. You can also add or remove the Posts to Page box on the left side your Page's Timeline:

  1. Click Settings at the top of your Page
  2. Click Post Visibility
  3. Select Hide posts by others on my Page Timeline from the dropdown menu
  4. Click the box next to Highlight recent posts by other people on my Page Timeline
  5. Click Save Changes

You can then go to Posts by Others in your Page's activity log to choose which posts to allow on your Page's Timeline.

Note: You must be an admin to edit these settings.

You'll need to be an admin to prevent people from posting photos on your Page's Timeline and in the comments section of your Page posts. If you're an admin:

  1. Click Settings at the top of your Page
  2. Click Posting Ability
  3. Click to uncheck the box next to Everyone can add photos and videos to [Page name]’s Timeline
  4. Click Save Changes

If you're an admin of a Page, you can block certain words from appearing on your Page and turn on the profanity filter.

Blocking Words

When people include a word you've blocked in a post or comment on your Page, it'll be automatically marked as spam. To block words:

  1. Click Settings at the top of your Page.
  2. Click Page Moderation.
  3. Type the words you want to block, separated by commas. You'll need to add both the singular and plural forms of the word you want to block.
  4. Click Save Changes.

To unmark a post as spam, go to your Page's activity log and click Spam in the left column. From the post, clickand select Unmark as Spam. To unmark a comment as spam, hover over the comment and click Unhide.

Profanity Filter

You can block different degrees of profanity from appearing on your Page. Facebook determines what to block by using the most commonly reported words and phrases marked offensive by the community. To turn on the profanity filter:

  1. Click Settings at the top of your Page.
  2. Click Profanity Filter.
  3. Select Medium or Strong.
  4. Click Save Changes.

You can allow others to tag photos that you post on your Page. To allow photo tagging:

  1. Click Settings at the top of your Page
  2. Click Tagging Ability
  3. Click to check the box next to Allow others to tag photos posted by [Page name]
  4. Click Save Changes

To tag yourself in a photo posted on your Page, make sure you’re posting as yourself and not as your Page. Learn how to change who you're posting as.

People can tag Pages in their own photos. They can also tag Pages in photos posted by their friends and friends of friends. Pages can tag other Pages they have liked in their photos.

At this time, only Pages that are categorized as People or Brands & Products can be tagged.

Messages

You can only send messages to people who've sent a message to your Page. To respond to a message your Page has received, go to your Page's messages.

To see messages to your Page:

  1. Click Activity at the top of your Page
  2. Click Messages in the left column

You can also hover over the message section in the summary on the right side of your Page to see recent messages.

If you're an admin of a Page, you can hide the Message button on your Page's cover photo so that people can't send your Page private messages. To hide the Message button:

  1. Click Settings at the top of your Page
  2. Click Messages
  3. Click to uncheck the box next to Allow people to contact my Page privately by showing the Message button
  4. Click Save Changes

No, the ability to send a message to your guest list is no longer available. You can update the people you've invited to your event by posting on the event page. This keeps all of your event info in one place, so anyone who joins can see these details.

Comments & Replies

To allow people to reply to comments on your Page:

  1. Click Settings at the top of your Page
  2. Click Replies
  3. Click to check the box next to Allow replies to comments on my Page
  4. Click Save Changes

People who visit your Page will have the option to reply to comments that were created after you allowed replies. Learn how comments and replies are shown on Page posts.

If you allow replies to comments on your Page posts, replies will be shown below the comments. You and the people who visit your Page will see the most active conversations at the top of each post, and comments marked as spam will be moved to the bottom. To view the most recent conversations at the top, click Top Comments on the post and select Recent Activity.

You can reply to a specific comment by clicking Reply under someone's comment. You won't see this option if the Page hasn't turned on replies.

Page Visibility

You must be an admin to view and edit a Page's privacy settings. To go to your Page's privacy settings:

  1. From the top of your Page, click Edit Page
  2. Select Edit Settings

Here, you can set country and age restrictions to control who is able to see and like your Page. You can also control posting preferences and proactively moderate content from this section.

Published Pages are visible to the public. Unpublished Pages are only visible to the people who manage the Page. You can unpublish your Page at any time. Unpublishing your Page will hide it from the public, including the people who like your Page. To unpublish your Page:

  1. Click Settings at the top of your Page
  2. Click Page Visibility
  3. Click to check the box next to Unpublish Page
  4. Click Save Changes

Your Page won't be visible to the public until you publish it again. To publish your Page, follow the instructions above and uncheck the box next to Unpublish Page. If your Page is unpublished, you'll see a message at the top of your Page. Keep in mind that newly created Pages may be unpublished due to inactivity.

Note: You have to be an admin to unpublish your Page.

If your Page has age or country restrictions, you won't be able to see it when you're logged out of Facebook.

To see your Page when you're logged out, you'll need to remove all age and country restrictions:

  1. Log into your account and go to your Page
  2. Click Settings at the top of your Page
  3. Click Country Restrictions, click x next to any listed countries and click Save Changes
  4. Click Age Restrictions, select Anyone (13+) and click Save Changes

No. The spam filter is only visible to people who help manage your Page. You can find the spam filter in your Page's activity log.

To delete your Page, you'll need to be an admin of that Page. If you're an admin:

  1. Click Settings at the top of your Page
  2. Click Remove Page
  3. Click Delete [Page name], then click Delete to confirm

You'll also have the option to unpublish your Page so that it's only visible to people who manage the Page. If you choose to delete your Page, this is permanent.

Notifications

To see your Page's notifications:

  1. Click Activity at the top of your Page
  2. Click Notifications in the left column

You can also see recent notifications in the summary on the right of your Page.

You can get notifications on Facebook and/or by email when people post, comment or send a message to your Page. To change the notification settings for your Page:

  1. Click Settings at the top of your Page
  2. Click Notifications
  3. Click the box next to On Facebook to turn Facebook notifications on or off
  4. Click the box next to Emailed to [your email address] to turn email notifications on or off
  5. Click Save Changes

You can also manage your notifications from your personal settings:

  1. In the top right of Facebook, click and select Settings
  2. Click Notifications in the left column
  3. Click Pages you manage
  4. Click the box next to each Page adjust your notifications
  5. Click Close

Keep in mind that if you choose not to receive notifications, you can still see recent activity, including notifications, in the summary on the right of your Page.

When someone visits a Page and likes it, they may see a list of similar Pages they might also like. You can turn this feature off for your Page so people won't see these recommendations. When you turn off similar Page suggestions, your Page will also stop appearing in recommendations when people like Pages that are similar to yours.

To turn off similar Page suggestions:

  1. Click Settings at the top of your Page
  2. Click Similar Page Suggestions
  3. Click to uncheck the box next to Include [Page name] when recommending similar Pages people might like on a Page Timeline
  4. Click Save Changes
