If you have an account with Skype, your Skype account and Facebook video calling are not related to each other. You can run both applications at the same time, and can make or receive video calls with either one. However, your webcam can't be shared between both applications, so you won't be able to make video calls with both applications at the same time.

If you have a webcam, video is always on during your video calls. You can't turn off this feature. Learn how to send voice messages to your friends while you're on mobile.

You can use your computer’s built-in microphone and speakers or use a separate computer headset with a microphone and speaker.

Your computer’s built-in webcam should work, along with most PC or Mac-compatible webcams. You can also buy a Skype-certified webcam.

To uninstall the video calling plugin on a Windows computer:

  1. Go to the Control Panel
  2. Select Programs and Features
  3. Choose Facebook Video Calling Plugin from the list of programs and click Uninstall

For Mac OS X you can just search for the FacebookVideoCalling file and delete it.
