Android Partner Engineer, Mobile Products

Mobile Partner Engineering is a highly technical team that works with strategic mobile partners including OEMs, Operators and Developers to build Facebook products for multiple platforms in collaboration with Facebook product teams and integrating Facebook services into their mobile products including OS. In this role, you will engage with some of the world’s most influential mobile companies and collaborate with our world-class engineering and product teams to build, deploy and support Facebook products to millions of users with a focus on emerging markets. The ideal candidate will combine excellent product management experience to manage product development with Facebook product teams and external partners, have good understanding of opportunities and restrictions in mobile design to make product design decisions, and be technically strong to develop new features or customize existing products and provide detailed technical documents to drive product development with partners

Responsibilities

  • Work with Facebook engineering and product teams to customize existing products to meet platform requirements.
  • Work with partners to define product scope, lead product development, testing and deployment.
  • Keep the product at feature parity and improve the product to meet growth & engagement metrics.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and work with internal technical teams on resolving those issues.
  • Help scale by writing whitepapers, samples, and other materials that can be used by partners for integrating with Facebook infrastructure.
  • Identify opportunities with partners to bring optimal, engaging and low cost Facebook experiences to the users.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. Computer Science or 4+ years in relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of object-oriented software development experience
  • 2+ years building Android applications
  • 2+ years mobile application development experience (Android, J2ME, Windows Phone)
  • Experience in understanding large and complex code bases, including API design techniques to help keep them clean and maintainable.
  • Proficient in the following technologies: Java language and related frameworks Multi-Threading and memory management specific to mobile devices Understanding of caching mechanisms
  • Excellent communication skills including experience speaking to a technical and business audience
  • Experience with Push Notifications framework, maps, widgets etc. will be a plus.
