Facebook is building a VoIP (Voice over IP) solution that would revolutionize how people talk to each over the phone. Given Facebook¹s reach across all the markets, devices and operating systems, the potential is limitless. Our vision is to enable over a billion people to talk using their data connection on the phone. The team is looking for a software engineer with experience in networking to work in our Seattle office.

Responsibilities

  • The person in this role would help make VoIP calls reliable over varying devices and networking conditions like packet loss, latency.
  • The candidate should have a good understanding of various network protocols used in real time applications and how to interpret observations in field to make improvements to networking components.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. Computer Science or related field
  • At least 5+ years of experience in building, modifying and improving the networking behavior of application on mobile devices.
  • Prior experience with VoIP on mobile devices and/or iOS/Android is huge plus.
