How do you support the engineering of a service that supports multiple billions of users? From the patch of dirt we build an office on, to the custom WIFI into employee’s houses instead of needing to VPN, to the video services keeping our employees and partners connected and productive, there is a lot that goes on behind facebook.com. In honoring our hacker roots and challenging convention we build the technical foundation of Facebook. Facebook is expanding its existing team focused on internal video services. We seek an application engineer to focus on internal video services. This engineer will integrate our video services tightly into how we use Facebook and will oversee the creation of video technologies and related automation to allow Facebook employees to keep making the best social media platform on the planet. A successful candidate will want to challenge the status quo of the video industry, have an eye for good design, love to brainstorm, and challenge ways to come up with new UIs and workflows to solve tricky problems, all in an effort to elevate our productivity to new levels using videoconferencing, video streaming, and video-on-demand solutions. This highly technical position requires a person to be innovative and agile, collaborate well in a team environment, and have very strong communication skills
