Instagram seeks an experienced communications manager to lead its international communications for APAC. The communications manager will provide creative and strategic communications support for all of Instagram’s efforts in APAC and will have strong experience in developing and executing high-profile international communications programs. This candidate will be skilled at working with PR managers and agencies across the APAC region.
This is a full-time position based in Singapore or Japan.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage public relations strategies and programs to communicate about Instagram in APAC
- Drive positive coverage in consumer, technology and industry media
- Protect and enhance the reputation of Instagram
- Support and manage the creation of press materials
- Work closely with colleagues and external PR agencies in APAC and Menlo Park
- Organize press briefings, media sessions, and events
- Prepare briefing materials and manage executive spokespeople
Requirements
- Minimum bachelors degree, post-graduate or professional degrees preferred
- Min 10 years professional experience, both agency and in-house preferred
- Previous APAC regional background in Internet, technology and consumer PR
- Experience working with international media to achieve communications goals
- Excellent project management skills and ability working cross-functionally
- Experience in managing multiple PR agencies and contractors
- Ability to think creatively and communicate strategically with a variety of people
- Deep understanding and passion for Instagram
- Excellent oral and written communications skills (additional language skills a plus)
- Experience working on the ground in a variety of APAC countries a plus
