The Facebook platform offers advertisers unprecedented opportunities to reach and engage consumers. The Marketing Science Research & Development team is responsible for understanding how to measure the impact of paid media on Facebook. In service of this goal, the team conducts research on the Facebook advertising platform, designs methodologies and data systems to improve the ability to measure value on and off of Facebook, and forms external partnerships with measurement companies, industry bodies, and other marketing platforms.
We are looking for a Quantitative Researcher intern to help develop new methodologies and conduct groundbreaking research that those capabilities enable. The research conducted by the Marketing Science team is instrumental in informing Facebook’s advertising product strategy, advertising strategies recommended to Facebook clients, and new measurement platforms used across the advertising industry.

Responsibilities
- Develop and improve methods for measuring the causal impact of Facebook advertising
- Establish measurement approaches to assess relative performance of advertising strategies within Facebook and across marketing channels
- Assess potential opportunities and execute world-class research
Requirements
- Pursuing an advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred but not required) in economics, political science, sociology, statistics or a related quantitative field
- Strong background in applied statistics and causal inference
- Research experience with large data sets and experiments
