Personal Coaching for Adults

Rutland Sailing School has recognised that Personal Coaching is one of the most effective ways of learning to sail. For adults we offer 1.1 or 2.1 tuition this allows us to provide the most comprehensive, effective and time efficient means of teaching. The ability to tailor the course to previous sailing experience (if any!) makes personal coaching a more flexible way to learn, teaching to your speed, commitments and to your style. Adult courses are usually undertaken in either a Laser Stratos or Laser Bahia.

Introduction Sessions is a great way to see if dinghy sailing is for you, with an instructor onboard your boat it allows you to decide on the style of sail you like whether it be leisurely or an exhilarating ride. This course is 3hrs in duration.

RYA Level 1 and 2 Becoming a competent sailor with an introduction to sailing techniques and maneuvers, rigging, launching, safety, capsize recovery and basic rules of the road. What you would require to hire a boat, sailing with a RYA qualified instructor on board with you.

Advanced courses

Seamanship, Spinnakers, Start Racing, Performance Sailing, the advanced modules in the RYA scheme are great structured courses to improve your sailing, while gaining certification.

Power Boat tuition

We offer RYA Level 1 + 2 courses which gives the skills and knowledge needed by a competent powerboat driver.

Safety boat courses are offered with the aim of this course to introduce the techniques used to rescue dinghies, windsurfers and other water users.

Corporate events, Schools and Groups are all catered for and can be tailored to your requirements just speak to the school for further information.

OUR PROMISE
Rutland Sailing School's constant training and course assessment keeps our quality service ahead of the rest. The best equipment, the best staff, use of safety aids and radios keeps quality and safety standards high. The centre is recognised by The Royal Yachting Association, and all staff are highly qualified by the governing body.

EQUIPMENT
We provide most of your personal equipment for your course, wetsuits, buoyancy aids and other safety equipment. We suggest you bring suitable footwear, towel and swimwear. If you have got your own gear, feel free to bring it along.

PAY & PLAY
Boat hire is available by the hour, day, week if you can demonstrate suitable qualification and competence.
