A filmagem principal de American Hustle começou em 8 de março de 2013, em Boston, Worcester, Massachusetts, e em Nova York. Depois de um lançamento limitado em 13 de dezembro de 2013 o filme se expandiu pelos Estados Unidos em 20 de dezembro de 2013. O filme recebeu elogios da crítica quase universal e, entre outros, foi nomeado para sete Globos de Ouro, vencendo 3 prêmios.
