Headlines tell the story behind the Tweet
Hundreds of thousands of websites and publishers embed Tweets to share the best of Twitter with their readers. From world news, to sports, politics and entertainment, Tweets have changed the way breaking news is covered. And they help people everywhere discover important Tweets, even outside of Twitter.
Today we’re rolling out a new feature for publishers using Embedded Tweets that connects articles about the Tweet with the Tweet itself. When you embed Tweets in your content, the headline of your article and Twitter account will be surfaced on the Tweet’s permalink page for all to see. We think this will help more people discover the larger story behind the Tweet, drive clicks to your articles, and help grow your audience on Twitter.
For example, when Asiana flight 214 crash landed at San Francisco International Airport, publishers from all over the globe embedded Tweets like the one below to share reports from passengers and other eyewitnesses.
I just crash landed at SFO. Tail ripped off. Most everyone seems fine. I’m ok. Surreal… (at @flySFO) [pic] — https://t.co/E6Ur1XEfa4

Now you can find the article headlines right on the Tweet permalink page:
Publishers that are already using Embedded Tweets are in the first group to have their article headlines surfaced. We’re excited to bring headlines to more publishers and embedded Tweet partners in the coming weeks, so if you’re interested in participating please let us know. If you’re just getting started using Tweets in your articles, you can learn more about Embedded Tweets and our best practices in the documentation.
