Hitting the ground running with a new crew

Well, I think it’s fair to say that I haven’t had quite the start to 2011 that I was expecting!

    Hardest Decision Of My Life

It’s been one of the hardest decisions of my life but last week I decided to call time on my sailing career after an amazing 12 years.

    Camp 3 in Cadiz

Camp 3 in cadiz was another great 9 days of training. Cadiz just seems to be delivering good conditions every day with a good mix to give us some variety.

    Surfs Up in Mexico

I have been here now for just over a week, with six days of sailing in predominantly light winds it may be time for a rest day tomorrow. It’s been quite an action packed few days with gym, sailing, mountain biking and some surfing filling most days.

    Important Time On The Water

I hadn’t competed in the Miami OCR regatta for 15 years but it felt very familiar and it was great to get some more good training time on the water in a good climate with fellow Brits Giles Scott and Andrew Mills before racing got underway.

    2.4mR in Miami

It’s always nice to be back in Miami for some warm winter training and the OCR. I had a couple of regattas before hand to use as a warm up and also to check out some new sails I was planning to use.

    Miami Bronze

Things didn't quite work out in Miami this week. After sailing well at the start of the regatta I had a bit of a step back in race 5 when I was disqualified for not hearing a yellow flag penalty pre start after finishing second in the race.
