Class Rules

It is the responsibility of the ISAF Class Association to manage their Class Rules. All classes, especially those applying for status, are encouraged to use the ISAF Standard Class Rules template when writing their rules.

If a class wishes to make changes to their rules, they must follow the procedure as laid out in ISAF Regulation 10.11. It is within the remit of the Class Rules Sub-Committee to establish and maintain the policies for the approval process of proposed class rule changes.

To download Class Rules please visit the relevant class page or use the document seach feature.

Standard Class Rules (SCR)

The SCR is designed to standardise the procedure of measurement and definitions between classes. By providing a common format, it is easier for users to find the relevant sections of different class rules easily. Classes which do not have ISAF status are also encouraged to use this template.

The SCR templates are available below.

The ISAF Equipment Rules of Sailing are fundamental to the use of the standard template and shall be read in conjunction with the SCR.
