EuroCup #1 Won by Bonilla/Chapon
The Balis couple of Tanis Bonilla and Marc Chapon certified their victory in the first EuroCup of 2014 after 9 races. Also on the podium were Mimi El-Khazindar and Ben Batten (GBR) with Gillies Munro/Daniel Harris (GBR) in third. Carla and Marta Munte were the top ranking female team. 56 skiffs came from all over Europ including a team from Russia. Good conditions on Friday and Saturday with westerly winds allowed the Race Committee to hold 4 races per day. On Sunday, after a long wait onshore, the sailors were sent out at 2:30 only to have the first race cancelled due to a change in the wind direction. A final race was held with a shortened course with the French team of Brice Yreix/Loic Fischer-Gillou winning the final race. Full results can be found here:

New North American Distributors Announced

"This bold new North American dealer network is what is needed to support and grow the 29er class throughout the US and Canada," said Blake MacDiarmid, 29er World Council Vice President for North America. "It is a professional approach that will keep the class healthy, accessible and affordable - just the recipe to get more youth sailors into the performance development pipeline and Olympic pathway."
