For athletes to start messaging, they must have a valid unique mobile phone number in their athlete profile and properly go through the activation process.
At this stage the athlete must click the "Test connection" button. ADAMS will then send a text message to the phone number specified. The message will contain a three-digit security code, which will be valid for 24 hours.
The athlete must then send a text message to ADAMS with only the security code as text. Once ADAMS receives and processes the code, the athlete account will be enabled for SMS.
From this point, the athlete can send messages to ADAMS. Appropriate users within the custodial organization will be automatically notified when text messages are received.
