PERSONAL INFORMATION
Planning Service secures information of a sufficient nature to enable the successful processing of planning applications.
How Information about you will be used
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 provide a general right of access to all information held by a public authority and Planning Service is committed to demonstrating openness and transparency in its decision making processes.
The Statutory Register
Under Article 124 of the Planning (Northern Ireland) Order 1991 Planning Service is obliged to make your planning application and related plans and drawings publically available for inspection by means of a Statutory Register that is currently available to view at the relevant Divisional Planning Office.
This will include your personal details, including your name, address and telephone number.
Other Means
In the course of processing your application, Planning Service may make some information available on its website, provide information to telephone callers, supply information to other statutory bodies in connection with planning applications, or make your application available for public viewing. This may be by means of:-
  • Council Schedules which are published on the website to advise the public which planning applications are to be considered at the next council meeting. This Schedule will include your name and address;
  • Telephone calls being handled by the NI Direct Telephone Service whereby the telephonist will give applicant’s names and addresses on request;
  • Responses to enquiries from members of the Press who are interested in a planning related news story;
  • Making your application available to view by members of the public on appointment with the relevant Divisional Planning Office.
Please note that your telephone number, email address and signature will not appear on the internet or be given in response to a telephone enquiry.
