Description

Twitter is a free app that lets you connect with people, express yourself, and discover more about all the things you love.

See what your favorite celebs and athletes are chatting about. Be the first to hear breaking news. Catch a glimpse behind the scenes at the Oscars, concerts, sporting events, and more.

Then join the conversation: Tweet your own text, photos, and video to your followers — and maybe make a few fans along the way.

Get inspired. Be social. Even send private messages to friends. All in real time, as big (and little) things happen, from anywhere you happen to be.

I Want the Power [To Toggle Between My Lists]

I love Twitter. It's my favorite medium for social media. I think a few changes could really make Twitter more user-friendly.

First, move the "Discovery" and "Activity" sections to accompany the "Notifications" section in a toggle format on the "Notifications" tab (like the format that they are currently in with the "Timelines" tab).

You could rename the "Notifications" tab because it would now be encompassing the "Notifications," "Activity," and "Discover" sections.

Next, add the user's lists to their "Timelines" tab so that they would accompany the "Home" section in a toggle format. This way, instead of toggling between the "Home," "Activity," and "Discovery" sections (as it is now), you would be toggling between the "Home" section and your respective list sections. That way, you could look at your "Friends" timeline and then toggle over to your "News" timeline.

Twitter is great because it allows you to curate your information intake, but the fact of the matter is that I go on Twitter for a lot of reasons. Sometimes, I go on to just see what my friends are talking about; when I do that, I don't want for the News to drown it out. Conversely, I don't always like for my friends to fill up my feed when all I want to do is browse the news headlines. Please make this change.

Best,

Jonathan Wetherbee

Functional, but needs feature tweaks

I've been a longtime proponent of 3rd party twitter apps for their cleaner design and add-on features. This "official" app has since added most of the features that other apps touted. Unfortunately it still has a very cluttered feel (which I could live with), but could win me over as my primary app if it would just incorporate two changes:
1) User-selectable notification sounds. It's irritating to be stuck with the same default sound that almost every app is stuck with (and that every other user of this app is using). Too often, this results in a roomful of iPhone users asking each other "was that you or me?" whenever a notification goes off.
2) Move lists to a more up-front location: the bottom row of tabs would be perfect (many 3rd party apps do this), and there is plenty of room to have a fifth tab/selection (again, which is exactly what many other apps do).

Use more than most twitter apps...but the stock app should be the best

I prefer the stock twitter app for iOS. But, I do finds self using 2 other twitter apps often. Why?
The stock twitter app - you can't set a time for tweets. With hoot suite, they have the ability to set up time for tweets which is great if you are trying to increase your social media presence but have a full time job during he day.
And 2, although upgrades have been made to lists on the stock twitter app, it is still easier using lists with tweetbot.
I still recommend the stock iOS Twitter app over both previous mentioned apps, but if twitter wanted to dominate the app by adding these cool features, I wouldn't have a need for the other 2 twitter apps.
Overall 3 out of 5 stars.
