Techno 293 Central & South American Continental Championship
Mendoza, Argentina

There is no doubt that Francisco Saubidet (ARG) has his sights firmly set on the Championship title.
After writing off the first race of the event with a too-enthusiastic over-the-line start, he has taken the bullet in every race, his DNF is now discarded and he has the perfect score of four. Saubidet is a clear ten points ahead of his closest rival, Geronimo Nores (USA), second at the recent North American Championships.

It was not such a good day for overnight leader, Lars van Sommeren from the Netherlands who has slipped down to third, on 16 equal points with Facundo Ridriguez Beistegui (ARG) who improved on the second day.

Leading girl Maria Belen Basso from Peru has slipped down to fifth overall and the first Brazilian, Daniel Pereira, is now sixth.

The first under-15 boy Argentinian Martin Nores has moved up the leaderboard past the first under-15 girl Larissa Ricci Schenker (BRA).

Gaston Burmudez, the sole representative from Uruguay, said, "I am enjoying it a lot because I have never raced with so many people before and they are very good, so I am having a great time. It's been tough, I think I'll manage a lot better in stronger winds."

Mack van den Eerenbeemt from Aruba was in second place overnight but has tumbled down the leaderboard to 10th. North American Champion Maximo Nores is also wallowing down in 12th place overall.
