Techno 293 Central & South American Continental Championship
Mendoza, Argentina

When the sky is blue the wind starts blowing over Lake Potrerillos, the current venue for the Techno 293 Central & South American Continental Championship.
The event started with five races over two light wind days however 15-22 knots of wind is expected for the remainder of the Championship, a perfect combination for many of the sailors.

Francisco Saubidet Birkner (ARG) again proved that he is an expert in whatever conditions are thrown at him as he took the top spot in all three races. Lars van Sommeren (NED) produced consistently better results than earlier in the event and has moved up to second pushing American Geronimo Nores down to third.

Coming into the third day Argentinian Facundo Rodriguez Beistegui almost had his foot on the podium but the stronger winds have blown him right down the leaderboard to ninth. First girl Peruvian Maria Belen Basso has moved up to fourth place overall, way ahead of the other girls and only 12 points away from the podium.

Mack van Eerenbeemt from Aruba is happy that the wind has started to blow, Eerenbeemt started the day in tenth and finished the day in sixth. He came to Argentina with the aim of training in light winds and improve but two days is enough for him, "Today the wind picked up a little and I sailed better so my results are way better than yesterday, so maybe I'll go up the leaderboard and hopefully stay there."
