Mondial Assistance Challenge

Yvan Bourgnon's Bayer is still in the lead but Groupama of Franck Cammas has closed the gap.
he two first boats are sailing within sight of each other. They've both just passed Cape of Gata and have accelerated as the wind picked up again.

Belgacom of Jean-Luc Nélias remains close behind but Foncia-Kingfisher of Alain Gautier isnow 41 miles adrift. Thierry Duprey's Gitana IX passed through the Straits of Gibraltar on Monday morning and has caught up with the leading trimarans.

As expected, it is still tight racing among the leading boats. Yvan Bourgnon's Bayer jumped back into lead on Sunday night and remains at the front, but Groupama of Franck Cammas has closed the gap and threatens to take over.
