Gocek Yacht Charter

Sailing Conditions

General Conditions

Sunsail’s sailing area along Turkey’s Lycian Coast boasts ideal sailing conditions for a bareboat yacht charter.  Steady north-westerly winds range from 10 - 20 knots (11 - 23 mph) and there are cool sea breezes in the afternoons which die away at night.

The thermal Meltemi winds blow from May to October and can be particularly strong in July and August, making this location more suitable for more experienced and confident sailors.

With blue skies, consistent warm weather and perfect sailing conditions, Gocek is the perfect point of embarkation for a bareboat sailing holiday in Turkey. During the cruising season, water temperatures average 22 C (71 F).

Mooring: Mainly stern to and using lazy lines, anchoring or buoys.
