Krka Flotilla

Overview

Created out of ‘tears, stars and breath’, according to George Bernard Shaw, the uninhabited Krka Islands – an archipelago of one hundred and forty islands that have been declared a National Park.  Bursting with outstanding natural beauty, olive groves, vineyards and orchards tended by neighbouring islanders there is lots to experience

On a Krka flotilla holiday you will spend a week of pure, peaceful sailing cruising the crystal clear waters that surround the remote lunar landscape of the islands, stopping to swim, dive, snorkel or simply marvel at the beauty of it all.

Quaint fishing villages offer a choice of simple restaurants serving delicious Croatian food.

Sailing in Krka

Sailing here is best suited to those with reasonable previous sailing experience although navigation is easy with line-of-sight sailing.

Winds are light and variable in the mornings, with afternoon breezes and calm nights. Winds are generally south-easterly and range from 5 – 20 knots (6 - 23 mph). Summer temperatures range from 23 to 30 C (73 - 86 F) so not generally as hot as some of our Greek and Turkish locations.

Secluded anchorages are plentiful and at town quays lazy lines are usually employed, making mooring easy.

The picturesque island of Prvic is dotted with charming fishing villages that have changed little in hundreds of years. The restaurants of Prvic Luka and Sepurine, the two principal villages on the island, have a reputation for serving excellent fish – it doesn’t come much fresher! – and visitors on a Prvic Luka yacht charter are sure to want to try it for themselves.
