Welcome to Oxford Sailing Club

Whether you're a newcomer looking to try watersports or a seasoned pro looking for a new club, you'll hopefully find all the information you need here.

For club members, there are pages dedicated to racing, events, duties and the clubhouse.

For beginners, there is detailed infomation on how to get into watersports, what training courses are on offer, and how to progress. Click here to find where we are located.

We hope you enjoy looking through our site and look forward to seeing you on the water this year!

  • Open Day - Monday May 5th

Oxford Sailing Club is holding an Open Day on the Bank Holiday Monday, 5th May.

If you want to try dinghy sailing or windsurfing, please come along and have a free go! Last year over 320 people had a go on a very sunny day.

The galley will be open for lunches and snacks, and you can try out a variety of boats and windsurf equipment, before signing up for one of our popular courses (no obligation though!).

More details can be obtained through the office - 01865 863201.

Members who can help on the day, with registration and sailing activities, would be most welcome - let the office know you are available.

  • Building work
Now we have refurbished the ladies WCs the next job is to replace the patio and other external doors. The preliminary work is now in hand and over the next few weeks the doors will be replaced. We are sorry for any inconvenience during this time.
  • Sailing courses 2014

Oxford Sailing Club has now finalised the dates for its sailing courses for this year.

You can book online through our sail training website, at www.oxfordsailingcentre.co.uk

Courses for adults and children, both sailing and windsurfing, start around Easter, and as usual, the youth sailing courses are run in partnership with the Oxford and District Schools Sailing Association.

For further information check the website or call 01865 863201.

  • Club security

I would Iike to remind all members that the last member to leave the club is responsible for ensuring that the clubhouse is locked securely. Keys to the back door (opposite the boat park) are available from the office for £5.

If you do not have a key, please make sure you are not the last person to leave. If we continue to have security issues we will unfortunately have to limit use of the facilities outside the periods when staff or committee members are available.

Thames Water are currently locking the main gates at 7.30pm.

    Chris Burrows -  Commodore.
