The elections will determine the members of the ISAF Athletes' Commission for 2009-2013. The Commission, which is formed of 10 active sailors representing each of the Olympic sailing events, gives athletes a clear voice within the ISAF structure by reporting directly to the ISAF Executive Committee.

Athletes' were invited to nominate candidates for a position on the Commission for 2009-2013. For the six events of the 10 events where there was only one candidate nominated, that candidate has been automatically elected. The remaining four events - Men's RS:X, Finn, Men's 470 and Women's 470 - had more than one candidate. Voting for the Men's RS:X, Men's 470 and Women's 470 candidates has now closed. Voting for the Finn candidate has been extended until 24:00 UTC on Sunday 28 June.

Finn sailors who are 'actively campaigning for the Olympics' and ranked on the Finn ISAF World Sailing Rankings are entitled to vote. Each athlete may vote only once. The vote you cast will be final.

Voting will be determined by simply majority, with the candidate receiving the most votes by 24:00 hours on Sunday 28 June 2009 elected. In the case of a draw in the number of votes, the athlete who is highest on the ISAF World Rankings as at 22 June 2009 will be elected.

Voting is online via the ISAF website. To cast your vote click on the link below and then login using your ISAF Sailor ID and Password. If you are eligible to vote you will then be transferred to the voting area where you can select the candidate you wish to vote for.

The votes cast will not be made public.

ISAF will notify the elected candidate by Monday 29 June 2009. The line up of the ISAF Athletes' Commission for 2009-2013 will be announced on ISAF website on Tuesday 30 June.
