ISAF Sailing World Championships 2007
Cascais, Portugal

The second round of Commission Places for the 2007 ISAF Sailing World Championships in Cascais, Portugal have been decided. A total of 152 places have been allocated, bringing the total number of sailors heading to Cascais for 28 June-13 July up to a record breaking 1,616 from 75 nations.

262 applications were received by the Qualification Commission, with 152 Commission Places allocated in the second round for all events, with the exception of the Laser. There are now no more places in the Finn, Men's RS:X, Men's 470 and Women's 470 events. Commission Places were granted to Colombia and Antigua, two nations without a previous entry. With the withdrawal of Kuwait, this brings the total number of nations in Cascais to 75.

Applications for the second round of Commission Places for the Laser event are currently being processed and will be published shortly.

About The 2007 ISAF Worlds

The 2007 ISAF Sailing World Championships will take place from 28 June-13 July in Cascais, Portugal. 'The Wind Is Calling' is the official motto for the 2007 Worlds. The Championships are the principal qualification regatta for the 2008 Olympic Sailing Competition, with 75% of all national places to be decided.
