ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship 2011
Zadar, Croatia

Audrey Yong won bronze at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games in her home nation of Singapore. She will be sailing in her first ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships in Zadar, Croatia from 7-16 July and will face familiar foes.
Yong came third behind Siripon Kaewduang-Ngam (THA) and Veronica Fanciulli (ITA), who claimed gold and silver in Singapore. The girls are set to sail in Zadar so Yong will be looking to get her own back.

"The competition at the Youth Olympic Games was really tough and it was a challenge for me," said Yong. "Most of the girls who are going to the Youth Worlds also sailed at the Youth Olympic Games and I haven't raced against them since then so it will be a nice surprise.

"I will enjoy racing against them and hope to go out there to get some really good experience in the Olympic event."

As preparation for the ISAF Youth Worlds Yong has been sailing on the ISAF Sailing World Cup circuit and believes her experience at the Youth Olympic Games has put her in good stead as she prepare for senior sailing.

"It was good to be exposed to racing in the Techno class but it was shock therapy to come and race against Olympians."
