Rolex IMS World Championships
Capri

The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) will host the Rolex IMS World Championship, 15-22 May with the Yacht Club Capri.
The week-long event will again take place in Capri with over 70 boats from 10 countries.

"It is our pleasure to partner with the Yacht Club of Capri during the Rolex IMS Worlds," said Commodore Gianfranco ALBERINI of the YCCS. "With the strong support of our long-standing partner, Rolex, we look forward to welcoming sailors and owners to the beautiful island of Capri for a great competition and a full social calendar."

The regatta will have a full week of racing and social events including a gastronomic tour of the historical centre of Anacapri, May 16 and a crew Sardinian party on Monday, May 17. The IMS Worlds will be capped off with two grand events: on 21 May Rolex will hold a party at "La Certosa", an ancient monastery originally built in the 14th century which is exceptionally important in the history and the architecture of Capri; and on 22 May, the YCCS will host the traditional Gala Reception honouring the Rolex IMS World Champions bringing the week to a close.

The Rolex IMS Worlds is organized under the auspices of the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC), with the support of Italian Sailing Federation (FIV) and under the patronage of the International Sailing Federation. The ISAF Sailor's Classification Code will be applied at the IMS Worlds for the very first time in Italy, dividing the participating craft into two categories: purely amateur "Corinthian" crews and those with more than one professional member aboard. The titles of World Champion will be awarded to the winners of both categories.
