The Royal Match Race
Copenhagen

Australian Governor-General Michael JEFFERY last night hosted a dinner to celebrate the pending marriage of Tasmanian Mary DONALDSON to the Danish Crown Prince, Frederik.
Today on Copenhagen North Harbour, the celebrations continue. Crown Prince Frederik, and the Crown Princess-to-be, Australia's Mary DONALDSON, met while watching the Sailing at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.

Today they will be sailing against each other, with the assistance of two yachtsmen, both sailing icons in their respective countries. Australian Sailing Legend John BERTRAND, will champion the cause for the Tasmanian born bride-to-be.

Crown Prince Frederik is a world ranked Dragon sailor, but he's called in a top gun in his match race against his bride-to-be.

To match the Australian legend, the Danish boat will be skippered by Jesper BANK, 47, Denmark's triple Olympic medallist, who won a Soling Class fleet and match racing Olympic Bronze medal in 1988, a Gold medal in Barcelona in 1992 and another Gold at Sydney's 2000 Olympics.

Mary DONALDSON says she is confident of victory with her Australian skipper and Danish crew.

The weather forecast is for a high of 19 today with winds in the 12-15 knot range.
