The winds arrived providing a beautiful day of racing at the Olympic Garda-Eurolymp 2010 in Lake Garda, Italy.
An action-packed day at Fraglia Vela Riva, who in collaboration with Circolo Surf Torbole and Fraglia Vela Malcesine was able to officially kick-off a week of Olympic classes sailing.

Upper Lake Garda did not disappoint providing southerly winds which had started to blow earlier then usual. After a light morning pélér subsided, the winds from the South came in around 1030hrs and with them the promise of a great day of sailing. The five regatta areas were immediately put into position and the respective committees gave the go ahead for all classes.

Three races were completed for the Star, Laser Standard, Radial, 470 and RS:X and four for the 49ers. The races took place with winds of around 10 to 15 knots. The Women's Match Race, the new women's Olympic discipline, got under way at Lake Ledro.

A pair to watch out for are the other Portuguese crew of Freitas and Andrade with a first and two second's, but they also counted an OCS.
