Confirmed at the RORC Annual General Meeting on 4 December 2002, Chris Little has been elected the new Commodore of RORC, and paid tribute to outgoing Commodore Peter Rutter.
Chris Little is the owner of the IC45 Bounder and has a strong racing history with the RORC. Chris won Yacht of the Year in 1991 and 1992, the ARC in 1990 and Spi Ouest in 1992.

At the AGM, having paid tribute to the work and commitment of his predecessor Peter Rutter, Little went on to emphasise that whilst he has a number of clear objectives, the initial focus needs to be placed on the re-launch of the Admiral's Cup in 2003.

Little said "It is a great pleasure to see the Admiral's Cup re-launched with such strong support in its new format".

The Admiral's Cup will take place in Cowes from 10 - 23 July 2003 and will include the Wolf Rock Race as the long offshore race. Teams will consist of two boats - one from IMS600 class and one large IRC boat; details of each class can be found in the Notice of Race published on the RORC website. The website also provides details of competitive IMS600 Class boats available for charter, including Sinergias and optimised IMX40s.

The Notice of Race has now been published and formal notification of intent to enter has been received from the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club of Australia and the Spanish organisers of their recent Rolex Commodores' Cup team. A second Australian Club has expressed strong interest in participating in addition to clubs representing the USA, Sweden, Italy and France. For Great Britain, Peter Harrison will be taking time off from the America's Cup to lead a RORC team and the Royal Southern Yacht Club of Hamble also intends to enter a team.

"We are confident that the Admiral's Cup 2003 will see a fleet of highly competitive entries from a wide international selection" Little said, "We are looking forward to running an exciting Regatta with top level racing".
