On the 8 June 2005 at the Yacht Club de Monaco, Bernard D'ALESSANDRI, Secretary General of the Principality's Club revealed the programme for the Monaco Classic Week. He also announced the new partnership with the Swiss watchmaker Hublot.
Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of Hublot said, 'Throughout the world, the Yacht Club de Monaco is synonymous with prestige, luxury and dreams - but it is equally renowned for its sporting traditions and performances, and the cream of yachting. Such a fusion of elements might at first sight appear contradictory. In reality they are perfectly coherent with the rebirth of Hublot; our timekeeping for the Yacht Club de Monaco is a unique opportunity for us to reinforce our presence in the Yachting world. Today, Hublot wishes to re-dynamise its fusion concept internationally. There could be no better partner with whom to achieve that than the Yacht Club de Monaco and we are very proud to become official time keeper of its prestigious regattas around the Mediterranean Sea and the Monaco Classic Week in particular.'
Organized every biannually since 1994, the Monaco Classic Week, has found its place among the Classic Yacht gatherings and remains a unique event worldwide uniting Sailing and Motor-boating alike.
'Willing to be different from a number of classic yacht gatherings in the Mediterranean Sea, the Yacht Club de Monaco offers a very exclusive event dedicated to owners of the most prestigious classic yachts in the history of yachting,' explained D'ALESSANDRI. 'We are conscious of owners' needs and we want to assist them notably for the organization of their stay in the Principality but above all propose a large sportive, social and cultural programme, with privileged access to different places in the Principality.'
