Tempest World Championship 2004
La Rochelle

The 39th Tempest World Championship is currently underway in La Rochelle, France. 42 teams representing five nations are battling it out for the World title and
After three days of racing in front of La Rochelle with winds pending from 2 Bft. on monday 4-5 Bft. on tuesday and up to 7 Bft. on wednesday with waves up to two metres the 42 competitors are hoping for calmer times for the last two days.

The fleet is lead by french Philipe BOITE, former world champion in the 505-class, who was able to win two races and finish second in the other two races. In second place with a second and two thirds is Rolf BAUR from Germany and in third place with two wins, a fourth and a sixth place is Christian SCHAEFER, seven-time world champion also from Germany.
